Coating Flexibility Testing

SKYCOAT uses the Elcometer 1500 instrument for determining the elasticity, adhesion and cracking of dry paint on flat specimens.
Testing according to ASTM D522/D522M-B.

Coated metal sheets, maximum 150mm (5.9″) in length x 100mm (3.93″) wide, are manually and successively bent around mandrels of decreasing diameter until cracks appear.

When cracking or loosening appear, the coating is assigned a pass/fail for that diameter.
